A downloadable game

This is my submission to https://itch.io/jam/faggot-games-jam

It's a bit of an ashcan right now, and it's nowhere near complete! But- it's a start! The character sheet had to be on google docs, over here! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LTjCbGpzlSHHcIRYDWpY-rgnGfbfsdTbJjaDPCKeag8/...

=============

In Para-Phoria, you play as “The infested.” A union of human host and alien parasite, united by a chance encounter on the eve of humanity’s apocalyptic destruction. You don’t know it yet, but you are being hunted. Together, you have 7 days to evade capture before humanity’s ultimate fate is decided.

The parasite is a creature of apotheotic desire and perverse artistry. To the parasite; flesh is art, and their host bodies are canvas. Each body, a bespoke tapestry of ever-growing horror.

The host is a creature of practical knowledge and technical expertise. They have the skills, social connections, and street smarts to navigate humanity’s technocratic dystopia, and eke out a living in a world that has always wanted them dead.

Together, ambitions fuse as relationships form between the human heart and its inhuman passenger.

=============

It tackles themes of body horror, gender identity, bigotry, impending apocalypse, anti-capitalism, and surprisingly- kink positivity!

(-Or at least, it attempts to tackle these themes.)

I hope you find it interesting!

Oh I just realized, the Strains have some typos. I didn't have time to do a second pass over them while I was doing the game jam!

For the Stygian Strain, the Binding Touch and Boneless Contortion abilities are meant to be for level 4. Glistening Flesh and Ocean of rubber are meant to be level 5.

There are also a few places where I capitalized things incorrectly. I did the rough draft of the rules in Google Docs before I copied it to Affinity Publisher, and I was using the Lacquer font which has very indistinct capitalization. Google docs will catch incorrect punctuation, but only if the first letter is lower case. If the first letter is upper case... It ignores the capitalization for the rest of the word.

I'll fix that in the next version, and do a second look for all the problem areas.
